About Me
I have over 3 years of engineering work experience, where I worked mostly in the field. Since last year, I pivoted to consultancy, and I now work as a senior consultant on energy markets including all energy commodities. While in graduate school, I was the teaching assistant for 2 semesters where I led an engineering lab with more than 30 students. Typically, I would deliver a short presentation to the class on the theories, and then the tasks they needed to complete. I am always available during the lab sessions, and I tend to lead the students to the right track so that they were able to figure out the solution by themselves instead of me directly telling them. Another tutoring experience I had was helping Grade 9 students to improve their understanding in the subject Science. All sessions were delivered online, and I made sure to share the video recording and all the notes we took along the way with the students. I was also always available for the student to ask me homework questions even during off-hours. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, and drawing. Along with my fluency in Chinese Mandarin, I further honed my writing skill when I freelanced with a local media outlet to do news reporting, where I produced all the original copies in Chinese and then I translated to English. In addition, I developed another interest last year in web3, where I was and still remain as an active member in the web3/crypto community. I have always enjoyed sharing what I know with people who need support, let that be technical knowledge, career guidance, or soft skills (mock interview, resume rapid-review, etc.). To me, education is continuous process, and we can always learn something from each other.
