My teaching philosophy is comprised of the following tenets: - Identify students' abilities and goals. - Structure individualized approaches & repertoire based on optimal pathways to learning; build on each student's strengths while redressing lacunae. - Implement organic development of skills and knowledge; advance keyboard technique in close symbiotic relationship with music theory, analysis, and history. - Empower independent study through self-awareness, critical thinking, and listening comprehension.
