Post undergrad, I continued my studies in graduate school to complete 3 1/2 years of mathematics to prepare and pass the PRAXIS I, Middle School PRAXIS and Secondary PRAXIS II exams for state certification in the department of education. Since graduation, I have worked several years as a middle school and secondary mathematics teacher for 6th - 9th grades, and spent time tutoring kids of friends and family by referral, assisted with transitioning students into middle school through a Summer Bridge Program, and created group sessions for students needing help with note-taking and studying skills. In my experience, teaching and tutoring is gratifying when students make the connections and find the joy in learning math and what appears to be complex, by starting with prior knowledge, making connections to new learning , simplifying the process using laymen terms or "plain engish," then introducing the vocabulary to understand the content which leads to increased proficiency. In my spare time, I enjoy shared experiences with my family, working out at the gym, eating out at restaurants, traveling to new places, go-cart racing, and watching my kids during sports practices and games.

I enjoy spending lots of time with my family - husband, daughter (11yo) and son (7yo). They are a joy to be with every day! Also, I love eating out at great restaurants and traveling to new exciting destinations. Lastly, I love, love, love going to "The Box" to workout! A truly GREAT community of people.
