About Me

I'm a Masters' degree recipient in Geology. Geology is a rather fun field because you spend some time working in a lab and more time out in the field (which is a fun way of saying "I do science while I camp). Without diving too deep, my research focused on mineralogical changes of opal (that pretty mineral you may have seen in jewelry). By definition I am a Geochemist, therefore I have a really strong background in basic to advanced chemistry. While I may be a scientist, teaching is my passion. Before pursuing my Masters' degree I taught school at the middle and high school levels for a few years. This time teaching allowed me to develop new ways to educate new students, as a 'one size fits all' approach just doesn't work. The skills I have developed during this time I have applied to teaching as an Instructor at the college level. Currently, I teach basic level Geology and Chemistry at Temple and Widener University in the Philadelphia area. I look forward to getting a chance to help students learn and expand their skill sets.
