About Me

I graduated last May from St. Olaf College with degrees in Physics and Trombone Performance (both Summa Cum Laude) and am currently working on my MS in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue! Between all of these experiences and my various test scores across the years, I am enthusiastic to offer tutoring up to the college level in physics, mathematics, and music - when tutoring I absolutely live for those "lightbulb moments" when a concept(s) finally fits into place for a student. I have 3 semesters of formal experience tutoring/teaching college students both online and in-person at St. Olaf College and Purdue University as well as years of informal experience with high schoolers, each in both individual and group settings. My primary methods emphasize tangible connections and examples to help explain various concepts while also taking time to understand any gaps that may have cropped up in a student's learning for a variety of reasons. This yielded especially productive results during my recent TA stint at Purdue, where I ensured students' understanding of various concepts in thermodynamics (entropy, enthalpy being prime examples) was not relegated to being variables on paper, but genuine physical properties with meaning for the relevant systems despite a remarkable variance in the professors' pedagogical quality and style of instruction.
