It nurtures minds and shapes the world around us. To achieve the main educational objectives of both undergraduate and graduate programs, my primary goal is to teach the course materials in a clear, concise, and engaging manner. For this purpose, I take advantage of a variety of pedagogical techniques to make my lectures interactive and to respond to the students' needs and abilities. I help all students learn essential concepts of the course and allow an open ground for students to communicate and share their ideas among the entire class. Beyond transferring technical knowledge, my endeavor is to foster critical thinking among students, enhance their problem-solving abilities, and enrich their intellectual strength, particularly in science and mathematics. It is also important for me to familiarize students with state-of-the-art engineering principles in both practice and research, and to prepare them in developing a future plan to enter the professional work place.

My interest is developing my skill in an acadimic research. The role of an academic is to transfer technical knowledge and nurture research into his students and the community. Since my acceptance into graduate school, I have worked enthusiastically to develop the skill sets necessary for teaching and conducting research by attending faculty development workshops and engaging in various research activities. My current research interest is on the performance of bridges under multi-hazard conditions. With the climate change no longer an uncertainty, I intend to incorporate its effects bridges. To continuously monitor our aging infrastructures, I would like to investigate the applicability of other fields, such as sensing technologies in civil structures.
