I am a recent graduate from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Elementary Education with a focus on mathematics and computer science. Through my experience with the Albuquerque Public Schools, spending countless hours in the classroom, on top of about 7-8+ years of experience teaching computer science online, I cannot express the importance of flexible, reliable, and well-balanced sessions that revolve around not only what your students needs - but dive into the passions they are curious about. My sessions are centered on prior recall, active knowledge retention through effective activities, real-world connections, and fluency strategies that allow the student to practice concepts in and outside of class actively. I had the opportunity to teach through several online platforms, including Codeverse and Varsity Tutors. Both of these companies taught me my greatest skills today: how to effectively connect and impact students' skills through technology. The answer is not easy, but it comes with timeless effort, passion, and a drive for student learning. I am continuously improving my techniques within my lesson planning, hands-on materials and activities, and content acquisition strategies in order to not only provide the most effective tools to your student, but also grow as an educator and gain new insights for teaching strategies. As a flexible educator within the elementary-middle school range, I am open to any level student ready to gain new knowledge and grow as a creative STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts (writing and English concepts), Math) student! The subjects and styles of teaching are completely adaptable to the students' needs and wants in our time together.
