About Me

I hold an associate degree in Funeral Services from Milwaukee Area Technical College. I have been a licensed funeral director for the last 19 years in Wisconsin. In 2019, I decided that it was time to share my passion for education with others. I attended Capella University, obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and immediately returned to complete my Master of Science in Educational Psychology this spring. During my return to college, the Covid-19 pandemic took all of our lives and shook them upside down. Being in school as a psychology student has helped me deal with the unique challenges brought on by the pandemic that we still experience today with the addition of hybrid and virtual learning environments. While I can tutor a wide breadth of subjects, my education passion is in the field of psychology. Psychology is more about studying the roots of behavior and how our interactions in our environment change how we behave. Being able to link the theories and concepts of psychology to real-world behavior is an important step in understanding and grasping the concepts and theories better. I encourage people to challenge themselves to better understand concepts and theories by seeing how they are applicable in their lives or environments. Seeing and interacting with a concept outside of a textbook or material changes the way we learn and ignites a passion for learning that is important for educational advancement. I enjoy reading, watching movies, kayaking, and spending time with my children in my free time.
