About Me

I hold a Master of Arts ('15) and Bachelor of Arts ('12) in History from Georgia Southern University. In addition to majoring in History, I minored in Classical and Medieval Studies as well as Religious Studies. While completing my coursework for my Master's I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the History Department. I also hold a Master of Arts in Teaching ('20) from McNeese State University with a concentration in Secondary Social Studies (7-12). I am currently in my seventh year as a public school Social Studies teacher. I have taught the following courses: Civics (2 years), World History (1 year and currently), and U.S. History (4 years). I currently teach A.P. U.S. Government and Politics and A.P. European History. I have also taught Dual Enrollment courses in American and World History for five semesters. I have a State of Louisiana Level 1 teacher certification. Although I currently teach History, I have a strong background in Latin. During my first year as a Latin student, I scored a perfect score on the National Latin Exam and earned medals for my scores on the next two as well. I took AP Latin and scored a 5 on the AP Exam. This led me to take classes in college as part of my minor in which I earned a 3.4 GPA
