I am a graduate of Mississippi State University and Louisiana State University. I received my Masters of Science degree in Geology with a focus on paleomagnetism from MSU and a second Masters degree in sedimentology from LSU. While I was a graduate student at MSU and LSU, I taught undergraduate students in the geoscience field for a total of 5 years. Since graduation, I have worked for almost 20 years in the oil industry. I have extensive experience in oil exploration and rock study. During all these years, I have been very passionate about inspiring students to explore science and pursue their passions. I was blessed to have the opportunity to participate in two paleontological expeditions to excavate dinosaur fossils in Alberta, Canada. It was so much fun!

I am a black belt in shotokan, and I train in traditional style Japanese karate. I love animals and I have both cats and dogs in my household. I also love to travel and explore different landscapes and cultures.
