I also have a Master's degree in Elementary Reading and Math from Walden University. I have had the pleasure of teaching for many years. My experiences include teaching first grade for ten years and kindergarten for two years. In addition to that, I also had the unique experience of teaching a combination class of third and fourth graders in an International Academy in Costa Rica. One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is my Orton Gillingham certificate for teaching literacy to students with dyslexia. I have always had a passion for teaching reading and I truly enjoy helping those students who struggle with the different areas of literacy, such as reading, writing, and spelling. I have a son who has dyslexia and dysgraphia. I have seen the struggles firsthand and understand the many areas of support that students with dyslexia need. I feel very strongly about helping students overcome the difficulties that can accompany dyslexia. It is a true joy to watch my students grow and become more confident individuals and learners. In my spare time, I enjoy going on adventures with my family and our dogs. I absolutely love playing tennis and enjoy doing anything that allows me to spend time outdoors.
