About Me

I enjoy teaching one on one or in a classroom. I have over 3,000 hours and 14 years teaching at college level and graduate level. I am Professor Michael P. Mc Carthy an adjunct here at Broward College Fort Lauderdale Florida, teaching principally in the area of Businessand Supply Chain Management. In addition a Bachelors degree in management and accounting and an MBA. I have over four decades of hands-on experience in all aspects of management and international trade: operations, logistics, labor/HR and contract negotiations, financial analysis/control, light manufacturing, transport of perishables, vessel operations and husbandry, quality assurance TQC, and business development in foreign multicultural operations as well as the United States. As a Certified Marine Surveyor I have performed over 6,000 inspections and investigations for such clients as Lloyd's of London. My four decades began as a Peace Corp volunteer in Peru in the earthquake reconstruction efforts up to being the Chief of Party consultant for the Deloitte &; Touch's task force restructuring the entire export industry of five Caribbean nations simultaneously for the European Union. I have lived in while working in seven foreign countries and have worked on short term assignments in fourteen others representing both, foreign transnational and local interests. I am also fully bilingual English/ Spanish and am conversant in French and Portuguese. I received an MBA from INCAE , under the auspices of Harvard. Previously I earned an under graduate double degree in Business Administration and Accounting at Western New England University WNE , in Massachusetts with the distinction of Cum Laude.
