About Me
I am a retired Middle School teacher with 35 years of public school experience. I have a BA in Sociology with certification in Elementary Education (1-8), Reading Endorsement (PreK-12), and a Masters in Education (Curriculum and Classroom Management). I am a motivated teacher for the Learning Disabled, providing comprehensive instruction to students in a supportive environment. Adept at working within students' limitations, I help students set and achieve attainable goals. I have many years of experience in teaching students with physical, emotional, and neurological issues. I enjoy working with students on helping them show their best efforts and to achieve success in their academic endeavors. Here is a list of some of my teaching skills: *Prepared appropriate classroom activities designed to enhance socialization skills. *Developed lesson plans designed to address the individual needs of each student. *Provided positive reinforcement to students and acknowledged achievements. *Worked with parents to develop a better understanding of student needs. *Performed individual learning assessments and set goals for students. *Selected appropriate educational materials for each student. *Provided feedback to students and parents.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy travel across the United States, music, old movies, and genealogy. I am involved in my church and an active member of the Ohio and US JCI (Jaycees International) Senate, the highest honor of the service organization.
