About Me

I am so thrilled to be working with Varsity Tutors. I have a bachelor's in music education from Miami University and a master's in educational leadership from Santa Clara University. I taught music in the classroom for nine years; I have taught prek-12th grade general music, orchestra, and a variety of other musical ensembles. I perform with a band, playing guitar, cello, and percussion instruments while singing and holding the low harmony parts. The band performs other variety acts at the renaissance festival. I am a history buff and enjoy teaching students about the past in a way that helps them relate to those people, even through the centuries. I also have training in social emotional learning from Sanford Harmony and enjoy working with students of all ages to develop strategies to work with their emotions, including through gentle movement like yoga. I am neurodivergent myself and work well with neurodivergent students of all ages; I enjoy helping students discover the strategies that work to help them achieve their goals.
