About Me

I am passionate about helping students because I believe in their potential and success. I have been a teacher for over 15 years, and I enjoy working with kids. Watching them comprehend and master new concepts brings me great personal satisfaction. I have a bachelor's degree in English from Towson University and a master's degree in library science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and I lived in Spain during college to improve my Spanish and expand my cultural appreciation and understanding. I greatly enjoy tutoring in writing and Spanish because language and communication are my most natural talents, and communication is an essential skill for any person. My teaching philosophy is that all students can succeed and enjoy learning. My tutoring style is to respond directly to the needs of the student--listen to his/her preferences, insights, and needs, and work responsively. I enjoy travel, music, exploring other cultures.
