About Me

I believe that the individual is the foundation of society and that personal growth and betterment are natural to each individual whether it be economic, intellectual, or spiritual. Learning is unique to each person and each person, who has the interest, will benefit from the best possible learning situation that can be provided and consequently contribute to the whole of society. No one method applies to all. It is my goal to focus on the individual, adapt my methods to their needs, and inspire them to succeed. I enjoyed a nearly thirty-year career in financial services where I worked as a financial planner, wire-house broker (stockbroker), trust advisor, and wealth advisor. I worked the broker-dealer channel, the bank channel, and the independent channel. I developed and took an introducing brokerage firm through the entire FINRA (then NASD) creation and registration process. I attended what was then a week-long Brokers Option Course at the Chicago Board of Options and followed that as the designated options trader for a firm. I have over twenty years of teaching experience at the college and university level in addition to having served as a national educator in investments for a Fortune 20 firm. My background includes having been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner, Certified Trust and Investment Advisor, Regulation 144 Specialist, Retirement Planning Specialist, Certified Senior Advisor, and a variety of other qualifications. In 2019, as I began tutoring and realized that it had been decades since I originally passed my securities licensing exams, I took the Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE), and retook the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam (Series 65), and the National Commodities Futures Exam (Series 3), passing each on a single sitting. Over the past two years, I've tutored well over 200 students, balancing that with authoring a couple of investment-related textbooks and teaching aids. I look forward to working with you.
