Having gone through an additional three years of law school at Case Western Reserve University after four years of college at Brigham Young University, I know what it's like to be a student. I've been one for a very long time. So as a result, I've picked up on different ways of studying that are appropriate for different levels, different settings, and different subjects.So whether a student is preparing for the ACT or the LSAT, is wanting to polish writing skills, or is wanting to strengthen a particular subject, I can do it.I graduated with honors with a degree in Economics from BYU, and graduated with high honors with my law degree from Case Western. I thus have a background in both math and in writing and reading. And I love being able to help other people learn in these areas.When I'm not working, I love cooking, exercising, or playing with my family.

I chose to become a math teacher because, like many students, I went through grades k-12, having a rocky relationship with math. I was not good at it, and I did not like it. In college, I took a math course, and something clicked. I found a new understanding and fell in love with the topic, and I wanted to change the way students saw mathematics. I taught high school math for four years, from on-level courses to Dual Credit and AP courses. My favorite subjects to work with are Geometry, for its practicality, Statistics for its power, and Pre-Calculus because trigonometry is fun! While those are my favorites, I can tutor Pre-Algebra, Algebra (1 and 2), and Calculus, as well.I believe that learning is a process, a slow, non-linear, vulnerable, and frustrating process. It is essential for the tutor and student to have a trusting relationship and for the tutor to follow what the student needs. While a student may be enrolled in Calculus, it may be necessary to revisit some basic algebra concepts. As a tutor or a teacher, it is vital to allow a student to visit old concepts and be patient with the process.

There is no one method in which this can be accomplished which means that a teacher must learn to instinctively know how to best make a lesson successful. In my experience, even the most distant child can become excited about science if it is presented in a way that relates to them. For this reason, I strive to make every lesson educationally valuable to all students by linking each concept to real life issues. It is so rewarding to see a student who was supposedly "weak" in science, become deeply involved in a scientific experiment that has sparked their interest.

I provided private lessons for many elementary, middle, and high school students in Math, biology, and chemistry and I assisted students ages 6 and with their homework and other class assignments.I also developed and managed intensive summer learning programs for officially awarded diplomas, one is equivalent to completing middle school called the Intermediate Certification or Lebanese Brevet and the other is equivalent to a GED called Lebanese General Secondary Certificate.I am trilingual in Arabic, French, and English. All the subjects I took throughout my academic life at school and university were taught in French. I am also fluent in Arabic because it is my native language.I love working with kids and I love creating new tools to help them excel in their academic journey.I became even more passionate about teaching after seeing how much positive impact I had on improving students' grades and academic knowledge.I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students.
