About the South Carolina Aquarium

From its more than 5,000 animals to its award-winning education team, from the Sea Turtle Care Center to its conservation programs protecting local species, you’ll be struck with awe and inspiration as you journey through exhibits representing the mountains to the sea of South Carolina.
About the class
At first glance, it might look like lobsters and jellies have nothing in common — but that's not exactly true! To start, both of these unique animals are invertebrates. In this live, online class, we'll get up close and personal with stinging jellies and spiny lobsters at the South Carolina Aquarium.

Susan McLaughlin is the Virtual Programs Instructor for the South Carolina Aquarium. She has been lucky enough to teach students in almost every state and over 50 countries. She loves educating learners of all ages and leading the way to connect people with water, wildlife, and wild places.
