OceanGate Inc. is a privately-owned company headquartered in Everett, WA. Since the founding of the company in 2009, the OceanGate crew has focused on increasing access to the deep ocean through innovation of the next generation of crewed submersibles and launch platforms. Our fleet of five-person submersibles are capable of reaching depths as deep as 4,000 meters and provides unique platforms for exploring the deep ocean.

About the class

Fewer people have been to the Titanic on the ocean floor than have been to the top of Mount Everest, but in this interactive class, you’ll join an expedition crew live from their boat on the way to visit the wreck. You’ll learn why Titanic has captured the world’s imagination for over a century, why it’s so difficult to get to but so scientifically important to do so, and how OceanGate designed a submarine capable of this rare and exotic voyage. Join the crew live from the boat deck for an adventure that features the best of history, STEM, exploration, and innovation.

Please note that this is a live class from OceanGate’s vessel carrying the submersible to dive to the Titanic wreck site. We will do our best to make sure this class goes off without a hitch but we are subject to weather conditions, ocean environment, and many other factors including WiFi connection. Meet your expert instructors, Stockton and David

Stockton Rush is Chief Executive Officer and Founder of OceanGate Inc. He is responsible for OceanGate’s operational, financial, and engineering leadership, shaping the company’s strategic direction with a clear vision focused on developing the next generation of crewed submersible solutions for subsea operations in the adventure tourism, commercial, and defense sectors. He was the youngest transport jet-rated pilot at age 19. He has also built, maintained, and flies a composite experimental aircraft, and has led several small businesses as CEO and Board member. Mr. Rush has a BSE in Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the Haas Business School at the University of California Berkeley.

David Concannon is an attorney and explorer with extensive experience in remote places. He has sailed the Beagle Channel, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, dived 16,000 feet deep in the Bermuda Triangle, recovered artifacts from the Titanic, and led the expeditions that found and recovered the Apollo F-1 engines that launched men to the moon. David has advised, organized and/or led more than a dozen expeditions to explore, film, and recover artifacts from some of the most famous shipwrecks in history, including the Titanic, Bismarck, and Britannic. He has been a leader or participant in five Titanic expeditions and an advisor to at least seven more Titanic expeditions. In July, David will be making his fifth dive to explore the Titanic wreck site as an advisor to OceanGate Expeditions.
