All About Democracy

Grades 2-5

Through a series of hands-on, interactive activities, students will learn about how voting is used to make decisions, the different types - e.g. plurality, ranked-choice, representative democracy - of voting, and the process by which candidates and advocates attempt to earn the most votes. Students will also learn about the way that American democracy is structured, exploring the two houses of Congress, the Electoral College, and the significance of Election Day.
