Farah: Waterloo tutor
Certified Tutor
With over three years of tutoring experience and a two-year background in early childhood education as a teacher assistant, I've worked with learners of all ages to help them not only succeed academically, but truly enjoy the process. Currently pursuing my Honours Science degree through the University of Waterloo's Conditional Admission to Pharmacy (CAP) program, I bring strong expertise in subjects like Math, Biology, Chemistry, Humanities, and English, alongside a deep passion for making learning engaging, personal, and confidence-building.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in curiosity, empathy, and adaptability. I use techniques like guided discovery, active recall, and visual learning to help students think critically and retain knowledge, not just memorize it. Every student learns differently, and I love tailoring my approach to fit each learner's pace, strengths, and goals.
At the core of my work is a genuine love for helping students grow, not only academically, but also as confident, motivated thinkers. I look forward to supporting each learner on their unique journey and helping them realize just how capable they are!

Degree: University of Waterloo - Doctorate (e.g., PhD, MD, JD, etc.), PharmD
Outside of tutoring, I love staying involved in my community, especially through volunteering with children and individuals who are blind or visually impaired. These experiences have shaped my empathy and creativity, and I genuinely enjoy building meaningful connections through service. In my free time, I’m usually playing guitar, baking (often for fundraisers or just to brighten someone’s day), journaling, going on long walks and hikes or diving into scientific articles and research. Overall, I’m always drawn to activities that challenge me, inspire curiosity, and allow me to give back in meaningful ways!
