As a passionate educator with a PhD in English focusing on Creative Writing from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, I am dedicated to fostering critical and creative thinking in my students. With over two years of tutoring experience and over five years in the classroom, I specialize in AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and Creative Writing. My teaching philosophy centers on tailoring lessons to meet diverse learning styles, utilizing multimedia resources to keep students engaged in an online environment. I am particularly motivated by the opportunity to support first-generation college students and those with unique learning needs, including English as a Second Language learners. My own journey as a creative writer, including the publication of my poetry collection "Bloodroot," informs my approach, as I encourage students to explore their voice through vivid sensory details in their writing.
