Samuel: Kennewick tutor
Certified Tutor
I hold both a Bachelor and Master of Science in Geography from the University of Ibadan, and I have over five years of experience working closely with students of all abilities, including those with special needs. My passion for helping students stems from the joy I see when learners begin to believe in their own abilities. Whether a student is tackling a new concept for the first time or building on prior knowledge, I find deep fulfillment in guiding them toward growth and confidence.
My academic support experience includes roles in education assistance and operations management, where I've developed training programs, evaluated student progress, and personalized learning strategies to suit diverse learning needs. I've also provided one-on-one and small group instruction in literacy and mathematics, helping students improve their comprehension and performance over time.
While I tutor several elementary-level subjects, I am most passionate about tutoring Mathematics. I enjoy showing students that math is more than numbersit's a language of logic, patterns, and problem-solving. I take a calm, step-by-step approach to help students break down complex problems and see math as a manageable and rewarding subject.
My tutoring style is encouraging, patient, and structured. I create a safe space where students are free to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. I adapt each session to the student's strengths, challenges, and goals, always with the aim of building long-term confidence and academic independence.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring educational technology tools that make learning more interactive. I'm also passionate about mentoring youth, volunteering in community education programs, and solving logic puzzles. In my free time, I love to hike, read books on psychology and development, and play chess to sharpen my strategic thinking.
