I am a lifelong learner who finds great joy in cultivating curiosity and the love of knowledge in others. I work with students individually and in small groups daily as a school speech-language pathologist. In may 2020 I earned a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and in 2022 I earned master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, both from Radford University. I tutor English and Writing at all grade levels, as well as Phonics for elementary aged students. My favorite part of tutoring is discussing narratives with my students and helping them find real life applications for the information. My teaching style is conversational and relaxed. I firmly believe that in order to engage with the work, students must find some sort of enjoyment in the material. Even if English or Writing do not particularly interest the student, helping them find some element of the subject that they enjoy is a challenge that I am willing and excited to take on!

Outside of work, I enjoy reading and participate in a book club where we explore genres and themes each of the members have been hesitant to approach. It's fun to read stories that we all may otherwise ignore or actively avoid! I love swimming and spending time outside. When I'm not reading or enjoying outdoor recreation, I am watching a scary movie, drawing, or hanging out with my adorable cat, Raven.
