I recently graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology, and am currently completing my Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from the City University of Seattle. My experience tutoring students began in high school when I volunteered as a teaching assistant, supporting middle school students in Math, Science, and English. Since then, I've continuously sought opportunities to work in educational settings. During my undergraduate studies, I completed a paid internship where I worked closely with elementary students with learning disabilities, again focusing on Math, Science, and English. These roles have taught me the importance of adapting to each student's unique needs and learning style. I am very interested in tutoring Math, English, and Science for elementary and middle school students. Additionally, I also have and am open to tutoring high school and university students in IB Psychology, and university level psychology and sociology classes, as completing my education in that field has given me a lot of experience and tools on how to navigate those courses. I am deeply passionate about helping students because I believe this stage of life is pivotal to shaping their academic journey and self-confidence. Due to this, my teaching philosophy centers around creating a supportive, adaptable environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. I focus on building rapport and tailoring my approach to each student's learning style. Therefore, encouraging students to actively participate in their learning.
