Certified Tutor

I began helping my nana with grading papers, assisting in the classroom, & tutoring those who needed further assistance at an early age. I joined a non-profit organization as a volunteer which work with adolescent juveniles who got into trouble in schools & the community. I served in several positions within the program and even participated in peer to peer tutoring from ages 12-18. My senior year in a high school I obtained a job with the Boys & Girls Club tutoring kids in 1st -4th grade in Math, Reading & Science.

Once I got to college I obtained a work study position with the America Reads program working with youth in the community schools who needed further assistance in education. During my tenure with America Reads I fell in love with working with Kindergarten students, finding many ways to make education fun. It wasn't long before I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice at the illustrious North Carolina Central University.

My passion for helping others goes beyond the classroom to the community. I enjoy helping those in the community who are less fortunate by volunteering in soup kitchens, food pantries, or community groups working together to support families. I found a passion working with adolescents and families in the community through support groups, community service, and workshops/trainings.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. A few hobbies I indulge in are singing, swimming & arts & crafts. One of my dreams is to travel all over the world to explore the many countries, learn languages & experience different cultures. A few of my favorite things include shopping, culinary exploration, & reading books.
