Hello! I have a double major in Mathematics and Secondary Education with a focus on Mathematics. My passion for education stems from my upbringing in Montgomery, Alabama, where societal expectations were often dictated by zip codes, limiting economic status, educational opportunities, and even life expectancy. My desire to challenge these stereotypes led me to a career in teaching and working with children.

I have extensive experience in teaching and tutoring through various clinical internships and community service roles. I have worked in public and private schools, including Booker T Washington K-8, Homewood Middle School, Restoration Academy, and Leeds High School. In these roles, I developed and implemented instructional strategies, lesson plans, and assessments to support students' learning in multiple subjects, including Math and AP Statistics. Additionally, I have tutored K-12 students through Better Than Average Tutoring and Birmingham City School Tutoring, contributing to the success of these programs. My community service includes tutoring in the Westside Restoration Corporation's Summer School Program, where I inspired students in STEM subjects and developed lesson plans to enhance their learning and prepare them for the next academic year.

While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Mathematics. In my experience helping struggling students, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) when working on math concepts. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students.
