Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of The University of Phoenix. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Psychology, with a concentration in Behavioral Health. I attended college after raising my family. Since graduation, in 2016, I have loved helping people with their English. I tutored children in China (with no English) teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL and TESOL certificated). I also enjoy tutoring working adults in Europe and Central and South America who need help with their Business English for their international work. While I tutor all English and writing in general, I am most excited to help people who need to improve their English as a Second Language. I am also passionate about science. I am incredibly grateful for my advanced education, and I use it every day. I am a great representative of the idea that it is never too late to continue or add to your education! I usually encourage my students to go to college right after high school, as it is the most helpful to a better life; however, going later has worked out very well for me. I am now semi-retired from farming. I raised my children on an alpaca farm high in the Rocky Mountains. We also had other farm animals and plenty of chores. Now I live on a small farm and still have a few alpacas left, for fun, and the farm dogs and cats. My favorite thing to do after tutoring is to go outside and do farm chores. I enjoy reading with my Kindle, yoga, and running with the dogs on the beach!

Undergraduate Degree: University of Phoenix-Washington DC Campus - Bachelor of Science, Psychology
Graduate Degree: University of Phoenix-Washington DC Campus - Master of Science, Behavioral Sciences
My main hobbies are farming, caring for animals, hiking, walking or running on the beach, and reading. I am a published author of articles and educational materials. I am keenly interested in neuroscience, brain disorders, and psychology. I learned a lot about how people learn from raising my family. Then, I went to college and studied how the brain learns. I use positive psychology and an eclectic method when working with learners. I usually perceive what methods may work, based upon experience, as many people have different learning styles.
