I graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Actuarial Science. Following my graduation, I joined the US Air Force as an In-Flight Refueling Operator in the KC-135. I was stationed at KI Sawyer AFB in Michigan. After an honorable discharge, I returned to NJ and chose to become a teacher in order to have more time with my children. In New Jersey, I had the opportunity to teach mathematics to students in inner-city high schools. Working with these students was incredibly rewarding; I aimed to show them that math could be easy and help them feel comfortable expressing what they didn't understand. Through this, I witnessed the doors of communication and academic success open for many of them.
Throughout my teaching career, I've taught mathematics at both the middle and high school levels, with a particular passion for Algebra. I've enjoyed exploring various teaching methods and activities, often resulting in wonderful student projects. Embracing the role of a student advocate, I believe that in the classroom, we become more than just teachers; we become extended family members. Developing meaningful relationships with my students has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career, and I feel honored that they've shared their lives and experiences with me.
