I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

My heart is in teaching, so as a current PhD student I look to tutor as a way of enjoying what I miss out on by attending class and conducting research. I most love english and literature comprehension skills, working to craft and edit an essay, or reading together as a practice of critical thinking. However, I have a lot of training in social studies education as well as all subjects at the elementary level.

As an educator I have taught both K-12 and college courses upwards of 20 students, in small groups of 3-5, and offered one-on-one tutoring. I believe in meeting the student where they are at in the best ways that they learn. With tools for differentiation and special education in my pocket, I'm ready to work alongside you toward your learning goals.

After graduating with my BA from Colgate University, I received both New York and Maine elementary-middle teaching certifications, a masters degree in education as of this spring at Rutgers University, and am working toward my PhD in education at Rutgers with focuses on culturally sustaining pedagogy.
