Certified Tutor

I am a University of Iowa graduate with a Bachelor in Liberal Arts, with a Major In English and Minors in Journalism and Philosophy. After graduating, I did editing and document writing for Wells for approximately 5 years, and then moved on to work with people from other countries, in helping them to learn English and acclimate quickly into the United States. I did this by teaching and assisting with reading, speaking, and overall incorporation into the American culture. I love working with others around the elements of English. I love all types of literature, and deeply enjoy creating my own works of writing, from stories, to poems, to chapter books. I have begun tutoring younger people in the English Language from Asian, Middle Eastern, and South American counties, and have helped them to also acclimate into the school system to become active and functioning English speakers, both in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. I love to teach English and work with the Speaking and Writing aspects, as well as assisting in other coursework in school, for literature or English classes along with other types of classwork including music, arts, history, cultures, and sciences. I have always excelled in the area of English teaching, both the technical aspects as well as creative writing and expression skill building. I believe in empowering students to build self-confidence and access the innate love of learning that can be carried with them for a lifetime.
