Certified Tutor

I have worked with K-8 students both in a remedial setting as well as an exceptional education one. My educational background includes a B.A. in English from Kentucky State University and a M.Ed. from the University of Tennesse Chattanooga. In my thirty-three years of teaching, I have attended and successfully completed many seminars and professional developments on teaching English and reading.

Recently, I have tutored small groups (3-6) of elementary students in reading comprehension and reading fundamentals. I can tutor English grammar, composition, and literary skills.

I want students to become strong, independent learners who possess the tools to investigate and solve any academic issue or problem. They should be able to research or know how to find answers. They should also be strong readers capable of reviewing all types of literature.
