Certified Tutor

I am a graduate from the University of South Florida. I received a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with concentrations in Biological Sciences and Social/Behavioral Sciences. During my time at USF, I was a tutor, tutoring both high school and middle school students in various math subjects, in a few low-income and first generation programs called Upward Bound Program (UBP) and College Reach-Out Program (CROP). I am most passionate about Algebra as I had incredible teacher for this subject.
I also was a teacher's assistant in my time at USF for the Statistics department at university. I tutored Statistics in the library on the weekdays and I taught a peer leading class on Fridays for Statistics. I enjoy helping students from the middle school students who were building their foundations in math, to the high school students who were expanding their knowledge and building upon their math, to the college students, who were my fellow peers, who needed more clarification and direction to fortify their studies.
After college, I began to work in higher education, but, I had private tutoring clients from a homeschool environment and continued to work with high school students needing assistance with math.
While I love math, I also love language, and my favorite language is French, I love tutoring French as well to bring students to an understand of the wonderful and beautiful language.
My favorite part of tutoring is seeing the joy of the aha moments in which a student gets when they finally understand something that was initially an obstacle of confusion for them. I love seeing the confidence students travel with as they do problems that posed as a hurdle for them previously.
I am a firm believer that anyone can come to understand math with the right mindset, teaching, the right amount of exposure and most of all, practice. My approach with students is to have patience and to move at their pace of understanding as they progress in it.
In my spare time, I love to do calligraphy and lettering as well as reading and researching about psychology and interpersonal relationships.
