I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Adia: Oshawa tutor

Certified Tutor

Hi there! I'm a University of Missouri alum (Go Tigers!) I received my Bachelor of Journalism with a focus on Strategic Communications and a minor in Business Administration. I have always had a desire to help others and to impart knowledge in an engaging way (giving tours at art museums, spending my summers leading classes for students, volunteering at schools to tutor) and that culminated in me joining Teach For America to teach Mathematics for 3 years. While I do have a penchant for writing, my love for math has been ever-present and I enjoy helping people to understand mathematics as the problem-solving discipline that it is. I feel comfortable teaching anything through 11th grade Mathematics. My teaching philosophy is that all questions are good questions if they get you closer to understanding and that wrong answers are valuable to learning. Most proficiency comes from gaining confidence, so I try to give as many at-bats with the subject matter as it takes for a student to feel confident! I have many interests and hobbies but my current passions are jewelry making, The Sims, and watching Twitch streams.
