I enjoy learning and am passionate about sharing that enthusiasm for learning with students. I have been awarded a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. My experience grew during student teaching in a 3rd-grade classroom, where I had the opportunity to gain full control of the classroom, including small group and individual practice with students who needed extra help in a specific area of study. It was a thrilling experience to witness a student's growth with supplemental aid within small groups and individual meetings.
I am a graduate student from the University of Phoenix. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies and completed the Teacher Preparation Program with the highest test scores among my peers.
In the future, I hope to work towards my Master's in History, specifically U.S. History, since it is my favorite subject.
I am qualified to tutor all subjects from K - 8th grades. While history is my favorite subject, I also am passionate about math and reading. With math, there is always one answer, but there are many ways to solve a problem. Reading can take you anywhere, and I would love to share that experience with students that reading is a pleasure, especially when you discover your interests.
My teaching philosophy begins with a student-centered classroom that provides students with a safe learning environment. Students understand that we can all trust each other because we all share the same goal: to succeed. I understand that all students are unique, including in how they learn. I strive to learn about my students to create relationships and discover their preferred learning methods. With a safe learning environment and relationships among peers comes student success.

I enjoy reading and scrapbooking in my spare time, depending on whether I am in the mood to escape or feel creative to document memories. I also enjoy cooking and baking and experimenting with new recipes. My two guinea pigs, Alice and Lily, always keep me busy, and caring for my cat, Miss Kittens, is more a pleasure than a chore because I adore these four-legged personalities running the house. I used to be a flight attendant, where I traveled the world, but my favorite destination was always home with my family.
