I am a graduate of IUPUI with degrees in European History and Classical Studies. I eventually plan on pursuing a PhD in ancient history to teach at the collegiate level, but in the meantime, I'm enjoying working as a tutor. I also worked as an Academic Success Coach during my time as an undergraduate, and I have a strong sense of what it takes to be successful in school. I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to be struggling in school. I went from nearly dropping out of high school, to graduating college with two degrees and the highest distinction, and I owe it all to the tutors and teachers who helped me turn things around and achieve my full potential. I hope to be a similar resource to other struggling students.
I offer tutoring for a wide range of subjects and grade levels, including Reading and Writing, World History, Thesis and Essay Writing, College Prep and Admissions, and Study and Organization Skills. My favorite subjects to tutor are English and History, as those most closely relate to my field of study, but I enjoy any subject that I get to help a student with. I believe in personalizing tutoring to each student's specific needs and learning styles, and find that this approach allows students to find more enjoyment and forward progress in their studies. I strongly believe that helping a student find personal motivation in their studies is the best way to help them succeed academically, and I try to instill such motivation in the students I work with. Outside of academia, I enjoy playing music in my rock band, hiking, reading, and cooking with my wife.

Undergraduate Degree: Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis - Bachelor in Arts, History
Non-academically, I enjoy playing music, reading, hiking, cooking, and spending time with my family, especially my cats! Academically, I am very interested in ancient religion and philosophy - particularly Celtic religion. Much of my personal research revolves around the historiography of ancient European religions, and how such religions are understood, interpreted, and sometimes re-created in modernity.
