Teaching students has always been a passion of mine since I came from a family of teachers. Working in high school with elementary students and tutoring my fellow classmates led to my obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and Language from Southern New Hampshire University. Since graduating, I have continued teaching and tutoring, expanding my range to also include middle school studies. I find that the best quality to have when aiding someone in their studies is adaptability. No one learns in the same ways and some may require more patience than someone else. Tutors and teachers alike should take that time, customize the coursework or the way that they think, and teach in order to maximize what the student is learning in both quantity and quality. The philosophy of "no child gets left behind" could really adhere to my teaching philosophy because, for me, it is true. I don't care how long it is going to take or how many times I have to meet with a student, I'm going to make sure that they understand the material and can thrive on their own when I am not there. We are here to help them and set them up for success no matter what challenges are faced. My favorite subjects to tutor would have to lie in the English field. I love to teach essay writing and literary analysis, but I also love to teach elementary because whenever that light bulb goes off and students understand, I feel accomplished. At the moment, I teach English, elementary studies, and middle school studies. Outside of academics, I'm an avid reader of a variety of genres as well as a lover of film. Furthermore, I'm also trying to learn several new languages, focusing on Korean at the moment.
