I am a retired special education teacher who is a little bored. I love working with students who are struggling specifically in the area of reading, however, I can work with elementary and middle school students in most subject areas. I have 20 years of experience working with students with special needs from Kindergarten to seniors in high school. I can work with high school students in English Language arts, but in the area of math at this level, I am limited to pre-algebra. I currently have 3 master's degrees, Special Education, Reading, and Curriculum and Instruction. I spent the last two years working as a Response to Intervention specialist in elementary school targeting reading, writing, and math.

Hobbies

I am an avid reader. My preferred genres are murder mystery, medical mysteries, paranormal, and lite romance. I also enjoy making quilts, sewing, cooking, all types of crafts, cake decorating, and hiking. I am an animal lover and currently have 2 dogs and a little box turtle. But in the past, we had 4 dogs, 3 cats, a turtle, and 10 fish. The only animals I will not have in my home are snakes and spiders. Yes, I will have rats and mice, they make great pets. One of my greatest passions is being with my grandchildren working on their schools and baking and sewing with them. I love working the the tutoring students I have in person.
