Certified Tutor

I am currently a senior at SUNY Purchase. I am a political science major with a concentration on the Middle East. Throughout my academic career I have always been passionate about teaching others any knowledge that I had to offer. Whether for my peers in a study group session or for a younger student struggling with a discipline, I always enjoyed finding the ideal way to explain a concept and seeing it click in them. In high school, I joined the mentorship club, which gave me the opportunity to gain experience tutoring my peers in various subjects including languages (French, English, Spanish), History, Literature, and time management. In college, I got the opportunity to be a Teacher's Assistant for an Internmediate Spanish course for which I held study sessions and helped the student attain a better understanding of Spanish grammar. While I can tutor in many different disciplines, my favorite disciplines are the humanities, anything from languages, to history, to literature. I have an ability to figure out the most optimal way of teaching my students and cater to their individual learning process and needs. I believe that having the ability to be versatile in one's teaching method is crucial when it comes to teaching others and ensuring that they come out of a session having learned and retained the concepts. That is the quality of teaching you can expect from me. When I am not tutoring or studying for school, I love to read for leisure, exercice, play the piano, and work on my languages.
