Certified Tutor

I am an elementary school teacher with an undergraduate degree from Hofstra University where I received my Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Following many years in the corporate field, I decided to follow my passion. I absolutely love teaching and working with little humans. I received my Masters degree in Elementary Education from American University. Since graduation, I have had the privilege to work with a wide range of students from volunteering at summer programs in the Bronx, NY to working as an Assistant Teacher at a NYC public school. I have previously tutored at an after school program in NYC where I taught broad range of subjects including science, literacy, coding and math. I am most passionate about literacy. I enjoy helping young students foster a love for reading and increase their fluency and comprehension of the texts they read. This is something close to my heart because I love reading. I believe reading allows us to travel to a different world. We get to experience the world through the books we read. I am a firm proponent of equity in education. While I believe equality is important, providing students with what they need to be successful is much more important to me. Every student is different and requires different things to be successful and I believe as educators it is our responsibility to provide them wit it because a solid education is absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life. In my spare time, I enjoy reading mystery novels, Zumba and dance class and talking long walks with my puppy and best bud, Nemo!
