Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of The University of North Texas. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus in math and science and these subjects are my passion. I've worked for 26 years in education teaching 7th and 8th grade math and science in addition to honors algebra for high school credit. The teachers and professors I liked the best were those who loved what they did, brought that passion to the classroom, and showed a genuine interest in seeing their students succeed. I try to bring this forward in dealing with students so that they feel engaged and successful. I'm a firm proponent of education for all ages, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life. I believe every student is capable of grasping math and science concepts, and they just need to connect with a person who can explain it in a way they can understand. Additionally, my experience has taught me that sometimes a student is missing one little skill that, if uncovered and worked with, can unlock that student's ability to move forward and feel confident. I love getting to work one-on-one with students to help them learn and gain confidence! When tutoring, I aim to not only strengthen math and science skills but to build that confidence as well, helping students to succeed long after tutoring.
