Certified Tutor
I am currently a Neuroscience PhD student at Carnegie Mellon University. I graduated from Drew University with a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Physics and Mathematics. I have been tutoring since high school where I tutored a variety of math and science courses. I found that I had a passion for tutoring and decided to become a tutor at Drew University's Center of Academic Excellence (CAE). I am now CRLA I certified. Not only do I tutor over 10 courses at Drew, but I was also an Online Learning Fellow (OLF) for an introductory Chemistry class in the Fall 2020 Virtual Learning semester which allowed me to work with the professor to adapt the curriculum to challenges of the virtual learning environment during the Covid-19 pandemic. Working with a variety of students with unique interests and from different backgrounds, I know that every student learns differently and requires a distinctive approach to the material. Therefore, I am prepared to approach the concepts and questions from numerous angles to ensure that the student understands. I also believe that confidence in one's work is important for performance, so I will gently lead the student's into a position where they feel confident and comfortable with the material so that they can thoroughly complete anything from practice exercises to graded assessments.
