Certified Tutor

I am an alumna of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University. I have a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Bachelors of Arts on Global Health. This summer I will be attending Harvard Medical School. As a result, I have taken many biology, math and chemistry classes on the advanced collegiate level and can help students succeed in these areas.

I am eager and willing to help students succeed in their academic pursuits. Having served as a Teachers assistant, tutored and taught my own class to a group of undergraduate students, I have a lot of experience with various learning styles and teaching modalities. My tutoring experiences have consisted of middle, high school students and college students.

I have received a lot of tutoring myself and appreciated when my tutors tailored the tutoring sessions to my learning style and encouraged me to be confident in my abilities. As a result, I hope to use those experiences to guide and empower students through their tutoring and to help them realize that they already have the skills needed to succeed.

Additionally, as someone who recently went through the college application process, I understand how difficult the experience can be. I am well prepared to encourage and guide students on that journey through essay editing and preparation for standardized tests. Consequently, I am very well organized, prepared, patient and dedicated to providing the best tutoring experience possible.

I always arrive at tutoring sessions with a lesson plan prepared and encourage my students to send me questions in advance. I utilize both visual, auditory and kinesthetic teaching styles and will help students develop essential learning skills such as time management, note-taking and organization.

I am a firm believer that with support and encouragement students will succeed and will become more confident in themselves and their own abilities. I would be honored to help you achieve your goals

Outside of tutoring, I work as a doula and I enjoy cooking and well as dancing.
