I am a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's in Elementary education. After ten years of teaching, I went back to USF and earned my Master's in TESOL. I accomplished these goals while raising three daughters and caring for my disabled sister. Because of my own experiences, I understand the value of education. I also understand how difficult it can be to attain an education.
I love working with children and assisting them as they learn new skills. My two passions are Language Arts and working with English Language Learners. Both of these subjects can be difficult for the students. It takes hard work and patience on the part of the student and teacher. However, the successful results are so rewarding.
Not only have I taught elementary level children, I have also worked with younger children in day care settings. I currently teach 4 and 5 years olds at my church. I am constantly amazed at the ways they learn and use language during this period of growth.

I love to garden and have expanded my kitchen garden in the last few months. Besides growing food, I have a pollinator garden and a succulent garden. My garden has been certified Pollinator Friendly by the National Wildlife Foundation. I am very active, biking, swimming, doing yoga, and walking. I am involved in my church on the missions board and as a congregational representative. I am also leading a class at my church on racial reconciliation through the Be The Bridge organization. I volunteer outside of my church for LifePath Hospice as a patient companion.
