Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of Mississippi and recipient of a dual-degree in both international studies and Mandarin Chinese under the Croft Institute of International Studies, the Chinese Language Flagship Program, and the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. I am an avid believer in the importance of cultural exchange and mutual understanding, both within and across borders. During my time as an undergraduate student, I was able to study and intern in four different regions in China, familiarizing myself with a multitude of dialects, colloquialisms, and unspoken cultural cues. Through these experiences, I realized how important (but sometimes difficult) this immersion in unfamiliar culture, language, etc. can be. The personal relationships that students are able to form with a foreign language tutor through 1-on-1 guidance are indispensable. I learned this first hand by both receiving tutoring in my younger years of language learning and serving as a tutor for younger students through the university. I hope to serve as a source of guidance and mentorship for anyone interested in Chinese language learning and acquisition.
