As an individual dedicated to the field of education, I strongly believe in the philosophy that there is no such thing as a un-teachable child. To me, tutoring is one of the most effective ways to reinforce what a student is learning in the classroom, and effective tutoring fosters self-efficacy, encourages critical thinking, and nourishes a love of lifelong learning. I believe education empowers students to achieve and succeed, and with hard work and determination, every student is capable. I have years of experience tutoring and teaching; I have tutored adults in a correctional facility, grade school youth in afterschool programs, and I have substitute taught for a few years. From my experiences, I have acquired numerous strategies and techniques to help students retain information, understand it, analyze it, and eventually apply it. Learning goes beyond remembering facts and numbers, and I aspire to help each student master their content and build confidence. I also have experience working with children with special needs, particularly autism and ADHD. Tutoring is an incredibly rewarding undertaking and I look forward to supporting more students in reaching their personal and academic goals.
