Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Brigham Young University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Biological Science Education with a focus on human biology. Since graduation, I have taught both middle and high school classes including life science, biology, and AP biology. I have even spent a summer in rural Guatemala holding workshops to help teachers maximize their teaching strategies. While teaching, I coached the Science Olympiad team and loved giving students the opportunity to extend their knowledge of a science subject they were specifically interested in. Even more fun was watching them compete in those subjects! Out of all the sciences, I am most passionate about AP biology, though I am excited to help anyone learn on any level. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life. I also believe that science is so relevant to our own experiences and try to get students to appreciate this relevance and explanatory power. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my husband, walking my adorable dog Molly, cooking new foods, reading, and playing city league softball.
