Certified Tutor

I am an experienced teacher and tutor of French and English as a Second Language. I have taught French and ESL to students as young as 6 all the way up to college students. I have a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and French Language from Binghamton University and have completed extensive coursework in education and foreign language teaching. I am bilingual: English is my native language and I speak fluent (near native level) French. Language pedagogy is my area of expertise.

My experience:

I spent a year in Cte d'Ivoire, West Africa where French is spoken, teaching English in a high school through the prestigious Fulbright Program.

I studied French language and culture at the Universit Paul Valry in Montpellier, France in 2015. I also worked for two French organizations as an intern during that time teaching and providing support to both young children and adults with disabilities.

I also have been working for over 3 years in a French immersion summer camp for students ages 6-18. We focus on teaching French in creative and innovate ways in order to boost our students fluency and comprehension.

In college I was a Teaching Assistant to professors for several upper-level French courses like French linguistics and phonetics, and French literature.

In addition to being a Teaching Assistant in college, I was a university-hired tutor of French and ESL.
