Certified Tutor

I was born in Mexico, grew up in Israel and emigrated to America at age 11. I hold a lifelong passion for biology, chemistry, biochemistry and psychology, as I believe they are building blocks of life. I graduated with Latin Honors from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, majoring in biochemistry and biotechnology with an emphasis on neuroscience. Currently, I am applying to medical schools for an MD/PhD track, aspiring to ultimately work for Doctors Without Borders as medicine and travel have long been my deepest interests. Whether volunteering at clinics around the world or working as a medical scribe and EMT, I have always searched for new opportunities to learn more about the world within a medical context.

Throughout my college career I have been involved in several organizations on campus and in the community such as the Hispanic/Latino association, Tau Sigma Honor Society and after school science outreach programs. Through my work and volunteer experience, I have developed a motivation and skill for teaching. As a STEM advocate, I am a firm proponent and contributor to increasing science literacy in our society. I've also acted as a supplemental instructor for organic chemistry courses, tutored biology and chemistry to local high school students, worked at both a neurobiology and disease ecology lab and even had the privilege to serve as a peer mentor for both the university ambassador program and the Emerging Leaders program. I believe that through teaching, one can help inspire students to be curious beyond the classroom and truly become a lifelong learners.

When I am not in school or at the lab, you can find me salsa dancing, rock climbing, or scratching countries off my bucket list.
