Certified Tutor

I just got my bachelors in Physics so I'm fresh off the textbooks and home works! Physics and math subjects are my proficiency, and I get really excited with showing people how awesome these subjects are.

My friends all tell me that I'm a natural teacher. They say I have a knack for understanding concepts and explaining them in easier to understand terms. I also look into learning as a whole concept, which involves not only learning, but also things that affect our learning, such as our personalities, motivations, and our idea of what learning itself is (that's why I take psychology classes to better understand people); so don't be surprised if we dive, not only into the books, but into your own minds as well.

In my free time I like to spend time in the woods (when its warm enough!) running, hiking and sometimes climbing. I have a lot of hobbies, like archery, music(singing in a band), dabbling in art (drawing, painting, clay); and reading. I even got convinced into playing basketball this summer lol.

To give you an idea of who I am, let me tell you a bit about my self. I was born in a poor town in the Philippines, where I gained an interest in science in a very early age; there we develop an appreciation for education, because for many of us, being educated may be the only way to get out of poverty. At 15, my grandfather brought us to America, where I finished high-school where I honed my already developed English; having two different teenage experience and growing up in two very different cultures, I developed an ability to always see things in multiple perspectives; a skill that I find very useful, especially in studying. After high-school I went straight to the Air Force; there I spent six years working with and eventually mentoring people from walks of life; from a Russian girl who married a US soldier in Korea, to a person from Nebraska who's never seen anyone with a different color than them. The people in the University of Connecticut were just as diverse. There I spent four years studying physics with German, and Chinese exchange students and grad students from Nepal, and India. Ten years of experience with diversity, I believe, will help me teach in an ever intermixing and interconnecting world.

Acquiring knowledge is what drives me as a person; there's nothing I find more meaningful than understanding something and using that to improve my life and others.
